It was a Chanel Haute Couture, as magnificiently executed by Karl Lagerfeld as the giant model of Eiffel Tower that rose high above the runway at the Grand Palais. Following the showcase, guests remained transfixed as mayor Anne Hidalgo presented Lagerfeld with the Médaille Grand Vermeil de la Ville.
Pouring over the catwalk looks for beauty trends, a singular pattern slowly emerged — the days of minimalism are over. The message for party peeps is — beauty risks are worth taking! Make a statement!! And no one did that better this season than iconic brand Chanel with slick hair pulled back in a bun, nude facial palette and arresting bold eyes! Want to get the look? Of course you do! So here are backstage photographs that reveal how you can switch up your beauty game! It’s about a clean face, nude lips and bold colours on the eyes! To set the face, Chanel used Les Beiges—Teint Belle Mine Naturelle. Stylo Sourcils Waterproof Long Lasting eyebrow pencil delivered long-lasting definition while Le Gel Sources [Collection Yeux 2017] — a pencil that sculpted the eyes — accentuated the contour of the brows with a long-lasting line. Now it was time to get dramatic and play with colour — and it was masterfully done using Ombre Premiere in Blue Jean N°16*- Verde N°18- Poudre d'Or N°34*- Désert Rouge N°36- Scintillance N°804- Pinceau Duo Paupières Rétractable — eyeshadow in smooth cream and powder textures with matte, satin or metallic finish. This wasn't make-up.. this was art!! The eyes were finished with a swipe of Le Volume De Chanel — a mascara that gave the models longer, plumper and thicker lashes in an instant. Lips were faintly touched up with Rouge Coco DayLight N°474.
