Indian Designers

When Raakesh Agarvwal's name appears in print, superlatives usually follow. Founded in 2007 by National Institute of Fashion Technology alumnus, Raakesh Agarvwal Designs Studio has emerged as one of the celebrated design establishments today. The aesthetic and business savvy of the couturier is evident in all the looks; championed alike by the social and Bollywood A-list [Priyanka Chopra, Kareena Kapoor, Katrina Kaif, Deepika Padukone and Lara Dutta, to name a few], the brand has redefined the female silhouette with glamorous and intricately constructed looks in the prêt, diffusion and couture categories.

Over the years, the couturier has covered diverse grounds. From participation in Fashion Coterie in New York each season to Miami Fashion Week, Tranoi and St. Andrews Charity Show in Scotland… to selling in New York, London, Singapore, Hong Kong, Milan, Rome, Dubai, Johannesburg and Tokyo... Raakesh Agarvwal has established his brand as one to watch out for on the fashion landscape. While his attention to detail and mastery over embroideries and draping is a visible signature, his brand has continued to grow exponentially over the years. He recently opened a couture salon in Hyderabad and is planning one in Chandigarh. The future holds promise: there are plans to open a flagship in the Capital while designing an exclusive line for multi-designer fashion store Creo in Mumbai, launching a menswear line and styling films.

Following his showing at the Pearls Delhi Couture Week, Raakesh Agarvwal became the youngest ever designer to participate in a couture week and soon launched his debut accessories and costume jewellery label: Jewels by Raakesh Agarvwal. In India, he retails at Ensemble [Delhi and Mumbai], Aza [Delhi and Mumbai], M, Chamomile [Mumbai], and Creo [Mumbai] in addition to his couture salon in Hyderabad.
