Indian Models

Bangalore girl Noyonita Lodh represented India at Miss Universe 2014 where she was a semi-finalist. She is now making waves as Kingfisher Calendar Girl but the last thing this supermodel wants is to become predictable. Her vision is focussed on working in films and putting her business degree to good use.

''I've grown up watching Lara Dutta and Priyanka Chopra, and being a airforce officer's daughter, it was my dream to win the Miss India pageant and represent India at Miss Universe since I was five years old!! So that was a childhood dream.. and it led me to winning the title of Miss Bangalore when I was 18. Following that, I began getting lot of offers for catwalk shows, fashion week and editorial shoots. There was no looking back…

I'm extremely passionate about modelling; just the thrill of being in front of the camera and being able to play with so many expressions, body language and looks really inspires me. I'm the happiest when I'm on stage or in front of the camera. Winning the title of Miss India has to be the best experience in my life; having my idol Lara Dutta as our judge and mentor, I couldn't have asked for anything else. It was extremely tough and I worked really hard to win the title but at the end it was all worth it. The Miss Universe pageant was an unbelievable experience! The love and adulation I received in Miami is something I will always remember. Miss Universe is one of the most challenging pageants and the experience and opportunities there mould you into a better version of yourself. After I won Miss India I had a 20-hour packed schedule everyday to prepare for Miss Universe, from fitness training to designer appointments, travelling, social work etc. The entire experience helped me broaden my capabilities.

Honestly I was very hesitant to go for the test shoot of Kingfisher Calendar 2016 as I wasn't sure if I had what it takes to be on the prestigious calendar. So the day I was called I landed up not going. But the team encouraged me to come for it another day and I went. And when I was told that I was selected for the calendar I could hardly believe it. In fact I couldn't believe it even after we landed in Seychelles! It's been my dream to shoot with Atul Kasbekar and the entire experience of shooting the calendar was surreal. The locations, the hotels we stayed at, the food, the bikinis.. everything is a class apart. In short, shooting for the Kingfisher Calendar is no less than a luxurious holiday!!But of course I made sure I spent enough time to work hard at the gym as well! I had a very strict workout regime before I left for the pageant and I follow it even today; weight training, cardio, lots of proteins and balanced meals through out the day sum it up.

Looking back at my experience in the industry, I believe a good model is one who can communicate her personality to the audiences on the catwalk or in front of the camera. I certainly think my features and my walk are my strength. And of course knowing how to dance does add a certain grace to your movements. I also believe a model should always have a back-up plan in life. I'm currently pursuing my third year degree in business management. Modelling has always been a passionate hobby for me but after winning the Miss India pageant and shifting to Mumbai where I had the opportunity to do some wonderful work I have decided to take this up as a career alongside my studies.

What's in the pipeline? I've found a new passion in acting and working hard towards honing my skills for Bollywood. My long-term goal is to be an accomplished actor and simultaneously put my business management degree to use and open a restaurant or a boutique.''
