Indian Models

I first noticed model Titli Subhamita Banerjee at India Beach Fashion Week, observed her quiet strength on catwalks and TVCs since… and just had to ping her for a chat! ''I stepped into the modelling world in 2012 after being crowned 'Best Catwalk' at the Femina Miss India East pageant. Since then there has been no looking back'' she grinned.

Her attitude is refreshing. ''Who said modeling is not a permanent career? If you can maintain yourself, age is just a number. I love the profession! I get to be who I want to be, to do whatever I desire. I relish the freedom to do whatever I'm doing for as long as I want. At times, it seems like having an alternate career may be wise but mostly I'm busy with assignments. Whenever I have some time off, I work with NGOs as I'm also a psychologist. At other times, I hit the gym and focus on cardios. I don't follow a particular diet and in fact I keep on changing it every week!!''

She's cut from a different mould. ''I believe I'm still learning and there is a long way to go. I'm an individual and have a different perception towards my work. I wish everyone gets a fair chance; let there be competition within the people who are worthy of it!'' But there must be a turning point in her career, I persist. ''Yes! Walking for India Beach Fashion Week is an achievement. I have also walked for Rajasthan Heritage Week, Blenders Pride Fashion Tour and Kolkata Fashion Week. And I have done TVCs for Natures Basket, Fanta, Colgate, Tata Coffee and Samsung.’' So, has she honed a particular style that she calls hers? ''I'm a mix and match person. I like to personalise my style! My bag always has Chanel perfume and M.A.C. nude lipstick.''
