The career of Vaibhav Bachhe is one of hard work, passion and focussed vision — the Mumbai model's portfolio includes plum campaigns and television shows yet he is humble and polite. In conversation with the young man who left a lucrative corporate job, left his home and gave wings to his dream. His words are just like his first impression — simple, honest and direct. Over to him.
''I was working for Kotak Mahindra Bank as a manager but something was amiss. I just couldn't get myself to give up my dreams of modeling and settle into this nine-to-five long-term profession. Although I was initially attracted to modelling due to the accompanying name, fame and money but slowly my passion grew. When I resigned from my job at the bank and started modeling, my family was angry and upset… and for some time I left home and stayed as a paying guest — I didn't want to give up on my dream. I wanted to give it my hundred per cent.
That said, I’m happy with the way my modeling career is shaping up but I want to achieve much more. I'm still learning. And I'm giving it my best!! I'm working on a strict diet and workout regimen to reach the next level. I wake up six and drink half a litre water on an empty stomach. Through the day, I eat protein like chicken, eggs and paneer, and have three- four fruits and plenty of water. And yeah I workout in the gym in the morning, particularly strength and functional training, and practice yoga in the evening. I live by the mantra, fitness cannot be begged, borrowed or stolen but achieved by discipline, hard work and dedication.
God has blessed me with some good work. Campaigns that stand out include cover page of India Today; campaign that paid tribute to Alexander McQueen; participation in an event in Kenya with Sunny Leone, Shaan and Gaurav Chopra; shoot for vintage car rally winner of WOW Icon Personality 2017; showstopper with Miss World Supermodel 2017 Pooja Bimrah for International Leather Expo and several others. Projects I have lined up at the moment are juror for Mr and Miss Rishikesh Global 2019 and walking for several shows. The future looks bright but if modelling doesn't work out someday I will join banking once again or set up my own business, content in the thought that I gave my dreams my one hundred per cent.''
