Model, classical dancer, fashion design student from the Pearl Academy of Fashion and former Miss India Neha Kapur has an enviable portfolio that includes TVCs for Sunsilk, and Monte Carlo and print campaigns for Pantaloons, Hewitt Packard, Ponds, Monte Carlo, Tuscan Verve, Seagrams, Frazer and Haws, Motorola, Meena Bazar, Art Karat. "Models have a crazy schedule and long hours," sighs the Elite Model Management protégé.
"We do not have time for family and friends for weeks and at times the schedule gets so gruelling that we have no time to take care of ourselves which spells danger for a career that relies on good looks and personality. So I take a few months off each year to travel, read and maintain a diary to record thoughts and aspirations." In addition to winning the crown, Neha was voted Ms Fresh Face and Ms Photogenic.
"Participation in the pageant has taught me a lot. When I entered this profession, I did not know the first thing about modelling; all I knew was I had to perform to the best of my ability. I now advise models to have faith in themselves and pay heed to constructive criticism. The more you work on imperfections the better you get! Give importance to your wardrobe, make-up and hair as looks is given as much importance as personality and intelligence!"
