Pune-based model Raj Kanwar Singh is pursuing a law degree alongside a career in modelling. In conversation with the legal eagle.

''I was attracted to the world of Fashion from the day I was old enough to understand it. While i was completing formal education, I always had it at the back of my mind that modelling is what I really wanted to do some day. So I'm happy doing shows, shoots and tvcs today because this is what I have always wanted to do. Calling myself a professional model feels good but I am also pursuing my law degree alongside because I want to complete my education.

I feel I'm quite lucky to get such amazing work and the opportunity to work with the creme-de-la-creme of Fashion! I am proud to have walked for designers Varun Bahl, Ramesh Dembla,  Asif Merchant and Anuj Madaan, for India Beach Fashion Week, Bangalore Fashion Week and Blenders Pride Fashion Tour, for Raymond's, Marks and Spencer's, Forever 21. That's why I'm so strict with my diet and fitness regime. I focus on a healthy diet even though it is difficult! And I love working out six days a week including weight training and cardio, which helps me to stay lean. In modelling, I feel it's important to keep changing your looks, determine which look what suits you. To get work in this industry, you need to be on your toes and grab any opportunity that comes your way! Aspiring models should make as many contacts as they can, promote themselves to get quality work, be confident and stay humble.''
