'I love Salman Khan. I admire Prime Minister Modi. Any achiever is my icon,' he said when we first met. Is it a wonder then that he's inculcated the values of an achiever? I'm talking about the star- truffled career of 6'1" model actor Nayaan Chaudhary.
''I've always wanted to be a model. I never had a plan B. In fact, I did not have a mentor. My determination and passion for modelling and acting got me here. I was sure this is what I want to do and today I'm happy with the work I'm doing. There is no other career on the sidelines! As a safety net I have my father's business to fall back on. but, yes, someday I wish to open a restaurant.''
The competition is tough. What makes him a cut above, I ask? ''I think face, body, positive attitude, love for and dedication towards my craft has contributed to where I stand in the industry. I have what it takes to be a fashion model. And I have also acted in a film down South'' he reveals. Moving on to his regime, he tells me ''It's very important to be fit, particularly in this profession. So I watch what I eat and I workout everyday. I attend dance classes, do weight training and jog regularly. Diet- wise, I eat less carbs and more protein.''
The future holds a lot for Nayaan — i.e. Narendra Kumar Mahala — who hails from Jaipur and has carved a niche with impressive campaigns that include tvcs for Tata Indica Vista Sedan, Big Flix Reliance, Lipton Tea, Domino's Pizza, Cinthol Deo among many others and print shoots. At present I’m doing fashion shows and working towards being an actor. Walking at Lakmé Fashion Week and walking for Manish Malhotra is my most memorable work'' he grins and then adds on a serious note, ''The advice I can share with aspiring models is to work hard, give it your best and help others. Most importantly, be a good human being.''
