Indian Models
JYOTPRIYA SOOD

From dental surgeon in Punjab to model in Mumbai... Jyotpriya Sood has come a long way.

''I belong to a family of doctors. I did my graduation from Punjab and am a qualified Dental Surgeon but modelling has been my passion since childhood so after completing my degree I thought of giving it a try. I am glad that in my decision of opting for modelling over dentistry my parents supported me and I hope I have made them proud,'' she tells us and adds: ''I have been modelling since a year and my big break was Pantaloons Femina Miss India 2011. With that experience behind me even though I was nervous during auditions for Lakme Fashion Week deep within I was confident about my capabilities and finally I am so glad I am now a part of  the team!''

''My days now consist of regular work outs and some yoga... a balanced diet and eight hours sleep. I work out almost every day. It's a balanced mix of cardio and weights but gradually I am going to concentrate more on weight training and core strengthening exercises as a fit body is one of the most important factors in being a good model. As I continue with my regime I can barely contain my excitement! This is one of the major platforms in the nation for not just models but also for young designers and I hold it in high esteem as the team appreciates new design talent and gives them an opportunity to present their talent to the world. It's also a great exposure for budding models as they get to work with renowned designers and build a rapport with them.''
