CHANDRANI SIINGH
Runway Report

"I plan my collection months before the showing. This methodology helps me take a step back from the event and concentrate on creating the collection without being carried away by the frantic nature of it all. It also encourages me to pace myself and reflect more about what I am creating," the Kolkata-based designer had blogged on Explosive Fashion while chalking out her autumn collection. Well, she had the memo bang on! In an anti-thesis to this season's orgy of primary colors, Chandrani Siingh Fllora used a rich mix of silk, wool blends and jersey in ink, burgundy, peacock blue and nude; William Morris wallpaper designs re-interpreted on textile through texturing and embroidery; quilting, patchwork, cutwork and cording to create a vision of high chic. Accessorized to the last detail with interesting collars, cuffs and capes, the looks had an air of young elegance. Judging by the murmurs of approvals among fashion editors, this collection hit the high notes visually!
