When I got the opportunity of staying at The Park Goa, I was intrigued. Goa's best kept secret, away from bustling crowd at the beach strip with its shacks, bars and sunbathing tourists, yet within a minute's walking distance if you feel like heading out to sea or shack. When you've tired dancing into the night at Cohiba, the hotel is barely a minute away! If the psychedelic side of town, Anjuna and Vagator, appeals to you, it’s within a 8-km radius! Hey, this hotel is right out of a fantasy — from the moment I checked into the luxe property and proceeded to my room with the most stunning art! I had never seen anything like it and blushed…

But first things first! Alighting from my flight I met the hotel car at arrivals and it was a relaxing drive into North Goa. The hospitality that The Park Hotels is famed for and I know from experience at their other properties — began right there as the driver opened the minibar packed with beer, juice and aerated drinks and gave me a broad smile. Cheers!! The road from Calangute, past tattoo parlours and stalls hawking swimwear and sundresses, took us to this hotel built in white and purple. There couldn't have been a more stunning seafront location! Dispensing with check-in formalities, the team showed me to a deluxe room that was to be my 'home away from home' — the luxurious room and its verandah overlooked the pool decked with plush cabanas, leading to the bar and restaurant, and onward to the beach. Placed at the table was a bottle of wine with chocolates from Flury's. Oh the nostalgia that swept over me as waves of memories spent in the iconic Flurys of my hometown Kolkata washed over me… I then followed their maxim: Put your feet up and let your hair down! I translated that as spending a better half of the day lazing in the pool cabana and then at a sunken table in the pool with a tropical daiquiri, swishing water with my feet as others around me splashed about! Sounds blissful? I then met General Manager Saurabh Khanna who gave me insights about the hotel and how I could best enjoy its offerings. He was bang on in introducing me to alfresco restaurant 'Love' that whips up sumptuous world and Goan cuisine — a lucky throw of the dice for the property. I would go back again and again for the monkfish, feni kingfish, dill salmon tikka and drunken spareribs! And then it was time to party…

The week went by in a haze of chilling at the pool, indulging in sumptuous cuisine at the beachfront restaurant, heading to the shacks and onward for adventure sports. Before getting ready to party… after all its Goa! Would I stay here next I'm in Goa? Yes! Apart from beach views, luxurious accommodation in its 30 stylish rooms with Ipod dockets and wi-fi, and sumptuous cuisine, the management goes the extra mile to enquire guests' preferences and are game to even cook the fish you may have just reeled in! Right from locating the bizarre places I wanted to visit during my trip to making thoughtful suggestions to enhance my stay, they won me over! It's InstaLove — I just can't wait to head back there — after all, the business, leisure and long-stay packages are pretty attractive.
