A few months later… by some karma and some hard work, I received a call from FDCI (The Fashion Design Council of India) to join the organisation as I had been highly recommended by some of my faithful buyers. They offered me a ‘Registered Membership’ on the first go and I’ve never looked back since. It has only made me believe that I must be doing something right and someone is appreciating what I do! It gave me a reason to go on and create something new season after season, give my buyers and clients a new theme, a new story, a new collection… end of the day, some ‘art to wear’.
It was time to show everyone my passion for nature and design and we thought of the theme ‘Pocahontas’ based on the story of the red indian girl who had carved a heart warming story about her life for time immemorial… we did it our way though, wanted her to feel like a real princess, and so get her to wear the most stunning outfits with our nature inspired embroideries creating the exotic motifs of chrysanthemums, wild berries, roses etc with Swarovski elements embedded into them. The collection was loved by many, accepted by all, and sold overnight. We had a difficult time keeping up!
