"Our collection, 'Khadder', for Lakme Fashion in partnerhip with FDCI celebrates  the fluid, timeless and versatile khadi, cotton and silk woven in the small clusters of Vidharbha," Shruti Sancheti said in the run-up to her show. Sourcing directly from weavers, the educationist and fashion designer has built her label by resolutely working to revive near- extinct weaves and crafting them into globally relevant silhouettes that meet consumers' evolving needs.

For Spring Summer 2023 Shruti added handblock printing to her signature style and deftly blended khadi, silk and cotton with a global sensibility—not an easy feat. Yet given her expertise, there was an elegance and hauteur in the duster jackets, boleros, co-ord sets, long dresses, kurtas and bundies — embellished with cord embroidery and mukaish. Perfect seperates that could be mixed, matched and layered.
