NUPUR KANOI
Runway Report

Nupur Kanoi's 'Kundalini Project' (inspired by Vedic Indian symbolism) is a creative line crafted with lightweight fabrics textured with fabric tapes and appliqués to create triangular and square surface decoration. The tonal tape jackets, chiffon vests, double layered zipped vests with overlap pockets, georgette playsuits and knotted waistcoats were an ode to her creative prowess.

Keeping to a tight color palette of blue and white—blue depicting the soul and white denoting spirituality—Nupur used her skills to create graphic textures, an element that was the highlight of this showing. "Consciousness and Energy = Life. I have been inspired by Vedic Indian imagery where circles and squares indicate more than math. The collection lifts these symbols and graphics into form and shape.... the triangle and inverted triangle integrate consciousness and energy in the form of asymmetrical silhouettes and graphic texture," she told us of the deep symbolism.
