NEETA LULLA
Runway Report

Neeta Lulla opened DLF Emporio Couture Weddings with 'La Belle Epoque' that mined dramatic romantic silhouettes of the Edwardian era and seamlessly blended it with the Indian aesthetic. Renowned for Whistling Woods Neeta Lulla School of Fashion, bridal finery and award-winning costume design, the designer showcased a sleek line of voluminous red carpet gowns, bridal lehengas, anarkalis with Grecian draping and handcrafted saris.

As the lights dimmed, Neeta Lulla sent out unapologetically glamorous looks crafted with the finest tulle, chiffon, organza, crepe, lace and taffeta. Everything was soft, sensual and shimmering — classic couture for all those bridal engagements in the lives of twenty-first-century heiresses! The presence of intricate embellishment i.e. pearl embroidery, hand-sequinned beading and Osmanthus floral motifs meant that opulence wasn't missing while the Edwardian theme continued to play out in the ruffled necklines, flowing sleeves and passementerie.

PS I can't think of a better way to demonstrate runway-to-rack looks than a bride and her family walking the ramp… a brilliant retail move! Changing tacks, the show closed with a theatrical bang: lights in the mall went off to showcase a white, lit-up concept gown!!
