ZONE BY THE PARK, JAIPUR

10 minutes from the station where Delhi, Zone By The Park is a hotel of boutique proportion. Imbued with chic, colourful interiors, impeccable service and sumptuous local and world cuisine, guests can enjoy meals at quirky-chic alfresco restaurant Bazaar that has been done up to provide the ambience of Rajasthan marketplace—with a quirky rickshaw that doubles as a quick-snack bar adjacent to a smoothie bar (more on Bazaar in a separate review!). Other amenities include deluxe rooms, rooms that have a double and single bed that makes it ideal for families with kids, and suites | state-of-the-art conference facilities including a banquet and meeting room | Pool and Gym. The compact hotel has made of use of space artistically and flexible, free-flowing spaces invite reading, working, meeting, dining or just being, like the pin board that accepts messages guests or the hotel team pins there!

The design cues from the lobby to the restaurant and the rooms define a quirky take on elegance. It's high style everywhere you look.. without the airs! I was taken up to a room on the third floor on checking in and it was pleasant to see it done up in shades of tangerine with a spacious closet, a luxurious sofa one can sink into accompanied by a chairs-and-table set ideal for morning tea… and a compact bathroom with amenities. The floor-length mirrors and bright lighting (which most hotels sadly do not focus on) made me secure that my make-up and dress was just right. Room Service was slow though but when it arrived, my order of Laal Maas Thin Crust Pizza and Oreo Chocolate Banana Smoothie hit the spot! The rest of the trip was spent chilling by the waterbody (too small to call it a pool) with a plate of the most delicious mirchi-aalu-pyaaz kachodi (the chef made it even though it wasn't on the menu!), shopping for lac bangles and hand block printed dresses at new places I discovered thanks to the hotel team's helpful suggestions!

Since the management had offered late check-out I woke lazily to a breakfast of sunny side up eggs and toast, fruit platter and green tea. And then came the news that Spicejet flight to Delhi had been cancelled! Well, I had nothing to worry of at all as the team extended my room immediately and booked the hotel car to drop me to the airport at 4 a.m. for an early flight instead… which brings me to the last thought at check-out: their warm hospitality and discreet luxury at pocket-friendly prices ensure guests may just not leave!
