Luxury hotels

Those of you who have been following Explosive Fashion may recall that I reviewed Pride Plaza, Aerocity back in 2016 and how its artistic character and haute cuisine had completely won me over. The luxury business hotel is just as good as I remembered; an inviting place right on The Walk at Worldmark Aerocity — a premium retail and F&B destination over .3 million sq. ft — connected with all transport links.

Pride Plaza pampers its guests. The location allows for space and houses a reception where art work by Krsna Mehta occupies pride of place | Pan Asian restaurant 'Oriental Spice', all-hours coffee shop 'Cafe Pride', bar 'Stallion' | deli |  buzzing pub Imperfecto opening shortly | banquets spanning 12,000 sq ft | spa, gym and pool | 385 rooms and suites. My stay began on a positive note — check-in was efficient and welcoming. I was greeted promptly and escorted to my suite. On the way, I couldn't help being in awe of more lifesize art work, again by Krsna Mehta. The hotel's collaboration with the artist has given it a majestic character.

Inside the suite, I noticed the attention to detail — the materials, colors and art work beautifully together. And the view — spanning the length and breadth of Aerocity! A comfortable bed with an assortment of pillows is a diva essential as is a spacious washroom ands wardrobe space while wi-fi and work table with a multimedia hub ensured work wouldn't be interrupted. Unpacking and strolling around the hotel, I observed it has several positives! Guests are spoilt for choice with a multitude of options. After I completed meetings, I spent the rest of the evening on a poolside deck chair with cocktail and canapés… toying with the thought of pampering myself with an aromatherapy massage at Sohum Spa but headed over to the gym instead for a workout, sauna and shower. Just in time to meet friends down at the reception en route to check out a new restaurant at WorldMark followed by a couture showing.

Back by midnight, I changed into tracks, ordered chamomile tea and before I knew it I was fast asleep. So it's no wonder I woke up fashionably late — and after a quick shower and black coffee — checked out at noon! This brings me to last thoughts: the management was courteous. It must be difficult to strike the perfect balance between showing an interest in guests, and at the same time not be intrusive, and they are getting it right. The hospitality, the efficient service, the subtle luxury and the fabulous cuisine will ensure guests will not want to leave—and when they do, they'll be back soon!
