Shiv Sharma is pursuing modeling and hopes to make it big someday! Meet the Mumbai contestant of Rubaru Mister India.

''I started modelling back in 2016 after participating in Mr. Uttarakhand where I was first runners up. It encouraged me to get into this field and I started doing catalogue shoots for local brands in Delhi. A 9 to 5 job was just not appealing; mental satisfaction and happiness is way more important to me. I think most of the people who do not chase their dream and settle down for a stable safe career are more frustrated in life. And nobody can be 100 per cent secure in their respective careers anyway; at some point, people do face ups and downs in life so which career is worth facing the ups and downs for? So when I found myself getting deeply involved with modelling, I began focusing on my physique and started preparing myself for one of the biggest male pageants in India. I chose to follow my dream.

I feel my unique hairstyle, fit body and positive attitude make me a good model! I hope it makes me a worthy contestant as well. It's a no brainer Rubaru Mr. India is one of the biggest platforms in India for a male model to prove his worth; there are other pageants too but Rubaru Mr. India also has International affiliations and titles. So yes I am working very hard to get there! I spend two-three hours daily in the gym, maintain a strict diet, work on communication skills and prepare myself for the talent round; the main challenge is to maintain a strict diet, because being Punjabi, craving for sweets is frequent but somehow I manage not to go off track.

My hard work and seriousness to win this title makes me different as a contestant. If I win this contest, it will motivate me even further, and give me a lot of opportunities in this field. It will also give me a voice — we cannot imagine the existence of the human race without man and woman together. But as civilisation evolved, it developed a darker side too, like female foeticide. Killing the girl child is a crime — people prefer sons over a daughter because they feel sons will be a helping hand to them in their old age, which is not true. This mentality provokes people to kill the girl child. Its really important to make people understand that girls are no less than boys — in fact kill the girls and kill the entire human race!''
