NAYAAN CHAUDHARY

'I love Salman Khan. I admire Prime Minister Modi. Every achiever is my icon!'' Is it a wonder then he's inculcated the values of an achiever? I'm talking about the skyrocketing career of 6'1" model and actor Nayaan Chaudhary.

''I've always wanted to be a model. I never had a plan B. I was sure this is what I want to do. I love modeling and I'm happy with the work I'm doing. My second passion is acting. There is no alternative career on the side! I live in the present. I'm thinking only about modeling and acting. As a safety net I have my father's business to fall back on.'' What makes him a cut above, I ask? ''I think face, body, attitude, passion, love for my work and my dedication towards it has contributed to where I stand in the modelling industry. I have what it takes to be a fashion model. I have also acted in a film down South'' he says. Moving on to his regime, he tells me ''I workout in the gym every day for two hours, do martial arts and gymnastics. Diet wise, I like cooking and eat everything in the right proportion. But I don't eat sweets!''

For men, attaining supermodel status is rare and the rates they command are lower, I prod? He adds, ''I wish pay scales could be better. Models are not given their due. They're not given much importance. They're not given publicity. Models are low key!'' The future holds a lot for Nayaan — i.e. Narendra Kumar Mahala — who hails from Jaipur and has carved a niche in the industry with impressive campaigns that include tvcs for Tata Indica Vista Sedan, Monty Carlo Denim, Big Flix Reliance, Lipton Tea, Domino's Pizza, Cinthol Deo et al, print shoots and fashion weeks. ''I'm working on a film" he grins.
