Gaurav Kumar Gautam from Pune is passionate about modeling and he feels winning the pageant will open up a whole new world of professional opportunities. In conversation with the rubaru Mister India contestant.

"I began modelling back in college; it all started when I walked in a fashion show in my college fest. My friends had convinced me to participate as I was tall and handsome, and gradually I started liking it and began modeling more often. Soon I was offered a calendar photoshoot. Initially, I  was really nervous  facing the camera for the first time but I was also excited because I could see myself heading in the direction of my dreams. I was living the dream! Today I realise that modelling is not just about a good face or fit body; a model also must have a positive attitude as we have will face a lot of rejections at different stages in our career. I have a never-give-up attitude thats helps me be positive.

Speaking of the pageant, I have been following Rubaru Mister India for sometime now and I have seen winners getting fabulous career opportunities both in India and overseas. That inspired me to participate and I have been preparing for the pageant since the past two years. I had to really work hard on my physique as I used to be lean and thin. Undeterred, I included began focusing on a healthy diet and daily workouts. Maintaining a healthy diet was really tough as I stay alone, away from home and above that,  hitting the gym each day was hectic after long college hours. But all the effort is really paying off! The hard work and dedication which I put into improving myself makes me a potential winner! Of course, there are contestants with a great body and attitude but I am different because of my never-give-up attitude.

For me, winning the title will enhance my confidence and reinforce the belief that boys from small town can compete on a national level and achieve success. I can become an inspiration for many others like me who are dreaming to achieve success in these fields. It will also help me fight for causes I believe in. Save The Girl Child is one of the biggest issues right now and I  think not only the law makers but also the common man is responsible to make this country a better place; nobody can be debarred from the right to live just because of their sex, and most importantly no life is possible without women and people need to understand this as soon as possible!"
