Ankita Bhatia gave wings to her dreams at 17. While focusing on a sound education she actively pursued her dream of modelling … until her efforts were rewarded. Meet the Jaipur model.

''I chose modelling when I could have settled for a more stable career because I feel doing a job that does not excite you is not worth the time and effort invested in it! Modelling is something that excites me, it's something that I have always wanted to do and I can never get enough of!! When I was seventeen, I shifted to Jaipur. I tried to figure out how to start my career but couldn't comprehend how. After a few months, I saw an advertisement of Rajasthan Style Week. Excited, I went to watch the shows and met Abhimanyu Singh Tomar but couldn’t talk with him then. As the days passed, I heard about about his agency StyleSkool from classmates and that's where it all began. I began following him on social media and kept myself updated on all the events. And, one day, my wait was over. I met him at PIE Summer Camp '17; he trained me… and I became a part of the StyleSkool family. It's been a great journey and there's a long way to go.

It's been a year now and when people ask me what makes a model a cut above… I feel being a good human being is more important than being a good model. If you have a kind heart, intellect, confidence, gratitude and respect for your mentors and colleagues, no matter what profession you're in, you will be successful. I have the willingness to learn more and more and that I feel makes a good model to work with. That said, mental strength is as important as physical strength. Just hitting the gym is not enough! Fifteen minutes of yoga each morning does the work. I also believe in eating nutritious food and not skipping meals. And, most important, maintaining the level of water intake to avoid dehydration and consequently fatigue, as it's a demanding career!

I'm happy with the way my career is shaping up. I've walked for Ingenious Season 3 and shot for Rajasthan Patrika and the campaign of Rajasthan Style Fest Season 2 at Amer Fort. Modelling is a deep seated passion and I'll always try to be a part of this industry no matter what the future holds. It's a satisfactory career, if you're completely involved, although alongside modelling I'm doing graduation in management, preparing for CAT and I'll resume higher studies as education is equally important! Right now, I'm stoked about walking for Rajasthan Style Fest which has brought fashion, art and culture on one platform.''
