What to wear at India Fashion Resort Week? Gayatree Sehgal - Founder Director of "The Image 360" that helps individuals and organizations project the right image – sails us through the Resort look.

With India Resort Fashion Week coming up next week I'm sure you've begun browsing your wardrobe! So I'm putting together quick pointers to help you sail through fashion week with poise! When I think of Resort I think fun and sultry and free-flowing. While Fashion is fun... Resort takes it to another level because you feel freer to show your fun side and be yourself whether it's bright colors and prints or statement accessoriesl!! Even if your style is classic have fun with your clothes and accessories and ultimately this will reflect in your attitude! The best part: play as much or as little with colors and patterns, accessories and make-up.
These looks should serve different styles:
CLASSIC: Sport a classic (style or colour) short knee-length or maxi dress or full jumpsuit and add bright shoes and clutch... dramatic eye or lip make-up... or carefree hairstyle with some flowers to add an element of fun as it goes down well with the Resort vibe. The undertone of the look is classic with a fun focal point.
SULTRY AND SEXY: This look does not mean minimal but draws attention to your curves with plunging necklines or showing one long leg in a draped free-flowing dress or skirt. It can also be achieved by using fluid luxurious fabrics like chiffon and satin and even velvet (which would make the look somewhat dramatic!). This look uses rich colors!
QUIRKY: Bright colors and patterns... fun sunglasses and floppy hats... one oversized accessory. Typical loosk include half jumpsuits and frocks... shorts and calf-length dresses... fun capris and pants.
As you pack your bags for Goa consider these accessory options to add a fun element to any look: sunglasses in purple or pink or orange... oversized hat and bright scarf to go with everything (even your tote)... flowers for your hair or dress... neon bags and shoes. Keep the make-up quirky and bright. Candy shades on the lips and nails and shades of aqua and mauve on the eyes. PS don't over-indulge and do it all together!
FOR THE BOYS: Go for linen or formal shorts, light trousers or classic blue jeans with half or full shirt in floral or tropical prints. Add blazer to stand out or a floral pocket square!! Must leverage accessories like fun shoes, hats, bags and scarves.
Who knows... a fun accessory or make-up that you sport might become a hot new trend!!
