Walking into the workspace of Lecoanet Hemant was like walking into Charlie and his chocolate factory. The premises are huge and as particular as they are with their designs!
Everything you could imagine was housed in this location where they produce all their work for a national and International clientele. The task at hand (to shoot a segment for I Love Style powered by Karmik) seemed daunting but the second I met the duo the day cruised by as breezily as a summer in Monaco. As soon as we entered there were three clothes racks with the upcoming collection for both men and woman. The colors were rich and the coats were highly textured and oozing with the characteristic Lecoanet Hemant sophistication that comes with a global charm.
I spent most of the day with Hemant and let me just say I was impressed. This is a man who is very particular about what he wants and how he wants it! A man who knows himself! The unique thing about Lecoanet Hemant is that their designs seem so cutting edge and modern but their LH Spa section imbibes a traditional India in a way that's never been seen before! Hemant spoke of the story of the Ayurvedic-soaked fabrics that he uses for this line with healing and often life-changing properties. The way in which he spoke of his new life collection was inspiring and powerful and you could see the passion in his eyes… what a treat it was to hear about his vision and stories! He spoke of how a Sharman (healer) wore it and literally felt his entire body re-align! Powerful stuff!!
Hemant was very deep and I felt a real connection to him! As the day progressed, Hemant opened up more and by the end of the day we were in stitches of laughter and agreed upon so many given topics. He was such a treat to talk to and I learnt a great deal in the process. We also spoke a lot about how the West tends to appreciate Ayurvedic and Indian traditional things more than we do in our own backyard! I enjoyed the intellectual repertoire we shared and it was so refreshing to meet a man as talented as he is full of substance and charm! I can't wait to work with them again because I absolutely LOVED every moment of it!
